WHAT MENTORING MEANS TO ME — Rather than the “guru” mentoring model, where one depends upon a single mentor for all the answers, I subscribe to a network mentoring model, where one seeks out different mentors for specific purposes. As a mentor, I strive to serve as an encouraging, non-judgmental, supportive sounding board. In my experience, mentee-mentor relationships are mutually beneficial with mentors often learning as much, if not more, from their mentees!
